I have a a p4 with a barcode reader/printer software on it connected to a barcode printer

Im getting a new new a new dell or building a system myself self (haven't decided yet)

question: p4 is ide im getinng laplink to to transfer everthing over. will laplink transfer everything seemlessly from ide to serial withoput problems???

Laplink....havent used that in like 10yrs myself.

I dont think it 'images' one PC to the other, does it?

Only way it would work is if the hardware/drivers are the same on the old and new Pc's

Laplink I thought was jsut for copying files from one to the other

I agree I don't think Laplink will do what you want. I also didn't think anyone uses it anymore either.
