Alright I know little to nothing about networking, just enough to set up a wireless network etc.

Anyway a month ago I got FiOS and all is well...then suddenly when I would be downloading something or streaming a video...it would lose all connectivity. It does not say it is not connected, it just does not connect. So it turn off the router and then turn it back on (resetting it does not help either) and then after it gets back on I get internet again, but forget about downloading again. Been this way for a few months. I have not downloaded anything big enough for Verizon to be throttling me or anything, so I am thinking maybe it is a defective router??? I have the one LAN line to my comp on it, a wireless one to it, and a Vonage router all hooked up to the FiOS router they gave me, an ActionTec M1424WR Router. I checked all the settings and I really have no idea. I even turned off the firewall and reset to defaults many times.

I do know when they originally set it up they had to enable the Coax connection, maybe something else also?

They had no special notices on the account, was not throttling me, and could send a tech out at the end of the month because they are all busy installing new fiber.

First take off evrey thing of Verizon Router and conncet via cable one computer directly to their Router.

If it does not work well directly while No other peripherals are connected, and your Verizon Router is configured correctly call them again with the info and ask firmly for a new Router until they come in.

If it does work well when a sole computer is on the Router, start to add the component and see when the trouble start.

BTW since you have one Router the Wireless Router has to be conneted this way.

So you are thinking the router is probably bad. I did what you said actually and still I had the problem.

The link you posted times out.

Thanks for all the help so far.
