First off, is there any other way to test if you have power in the harness besides with a fluke meter because they're awefully costly.

There's little screwdriver looking things that have a lightbulb in the handle that you can use to test if a wire is hot or not. I can't remember the name of it for the life of me, anyone else know what I'm talking about?

A 12v test light IIRC, available from your local car parts store for a few beans :)
