Have a bad laptop screen....would another sized one work?

I have someone who purchased a laptop for just like 40 dollars and they want a replacement screen. I noticed that the Micron ZXs came with either a 15 or 14 inch LCD panel. Should the 14 inch work in the 15 inch panels place or not?
 
Would probably work if the two screens are from the same maker (or have the same support requirements) and have the same native resolution, but that is unlikely.

Got a 14 inch one in from seller on Ebay....it displays.....but it displays very weird. Don't know if its the screen or, its just not compatible fully. It displays red more and the colors kinda move around...strange looking.
