Have a 1st-gen X25-M, how to wipe?

I need to do a fresh install of Windows since it got corrupted somehow, but I don't want the old data hanging around slowing down the drive. It doesn't have TRIM, so how do I do this?

Though I always advise against secure erasing several reasons especially for simple purposes, if I had to do so, you can use Intel's Toolbox to secure erase it. However since Intel's Toolbox must run in Windows you'll need to use a different machine that you can connect your Intel in.

you must use HDDErase 3.3 for the Intel HDD's... Bootable ISO HDDErase 3.3

Remember, make sure your BIOS is set to IDE w/ Legacy support (it won't work if you have it set to AHCI). You can set it back to AHCI after you secure erase.

The Intel SSD Toolbox Secure Erase feature will work with a G1 drive. You first need to delete all the partitions on the drive - then run it and it it wipes everything out at low level. Easiest way to go, really.

That sounds like the best ticket.

The Intel toolbox didn't appear until after I sold my G1s for G2s and I never had a chance to try it on the G1s.

I used HDDerase 3.3 on my G1s and it can be a little flakey.
