My rack is 29" deep, is a square hole EIA 310 rack and I need shelves for them. I've come across the opportunity to get some shelves at a discounted price, but there is a problem. These shelves first of all are only 18" deep, secondly I believe their "rails" can only be mounted between 13" and 24". I've also found shelves on ebay before that lacked rails or any obvious sort of way to mount them. Are rails a standardize or semi standardized item that one can buy for equipment? Like you buy a designated size depending on your application or whatnot.

I don't want to be spending a lot of money on an item that I don't know if I really want to be buying. What I'm buying is a 'lot' of goods so in this case, they're coming with a lot of useless (at the moment) stuff.

Is there any smart way of using these 18" shelves with 13"-24" rails in a 29" rack?
