I bought my Athlon XP 2100+ a year ago and it's time to do my yearly upgrade. Please let me know your suggestions. Thanks.

Well, if you don't mind spending a bit more than $300, you get an awesome performance boost with an Athlon64 3000 and a decent KT8-800 motherboard. If you must keep it under $300, you're pretty much stuck with a P4 2.4C or 2.6C. I really wouldn't recommend you spending around $100 for a Barton, since you're getting 2170mhz out of your XP2100...

edit: If you're a multi-tasker, you just can't beat the P4C chips. They kill the Athlons when running 2 cpu-intensive applications.

I bought the Athlon 64 3200+ Retail at my local Microcenter for $271.99. Then add $126 for the MSI K8T800 NEO-FIS2R shipped free from Newegg = $397.99 - $20 MSI Rebate = $377.99
Because I bought the processor at the Microcenter store, I paid $12.24 (4.5%) sales tax. If you order it online, I think it's $9.99 shipping.

dual raid0 sata raptors for less than $300 on that board would do you fine!

Which Raptors are you talking about? The 37GB or the 74GB? I heard the 74GB are much better and quieter.
