Hauppauge WinTV PVR 250/350: Is it ok for playing a PS2 on?

I'm thinking of getting a Hauppauge WinTV PVR 250. I've read that people have had problems playing a game console on them due to some sort of a delay in the video being displayed. Is this true? I'm looking into one of these because my PVR box is my only computer, so a card with hardware encoding is needed.
 
I don't see it being a problem, though I haven't had a problem with it. I used an Asus TV tuner to play PSX which had no problems. It is a hardware card as well.
