I just got a Hauppauge WinTV PCI card, and I got the drivers from (http://www.hauppauge.com/xp/software/xp_wintvpci.htm) and I got the WDM Driver and the WinTV2000, and I even got DScaler which I heard was good, but it's not working.

When I try to run WinTV, I get a "Can not locate Capture Fileter (Hauppauge WinTV Capture), then a "Can not build Filtergraph" then a "WinTV Initalization Error. hTV=0". I try to use DScaler but all that does is give me a blue video screen (not the BSOD, but just a VCR blue screen) no matter what settings I change.

Any help/more info, PM me! :) Thanks

Simon

Go to the Hauppauge web site and download the "hcwclear.exe" program. Run hcwclear, this will remove all of the current installation. Then reinstall it using the following procedure...

1) Install the WTVDRxx driver.
2) Reboot.
3) Install the WinTVxx application.
4) Reboot.
5) Install WinRadio, IR Remote, WinVCR, etc. applications (if desired).
6) Reboot.
7) Install Dscaler (and yes, Dscaler is much, much better! :) you can download the current version here...sourceforge.net/projects/deinterlace/)

This procedure has always worked for me; I have never been able to get WinTV installed without rebooting between installing components.
