Hauppauge TV Card

Last week I couldn't get the PVR 350 model installed...would lock up every time as the drivers were loading. Last PCI slot was only one available for the card...this could have been issue, based on what I have read in various user forums.

Anyway, think I will now get the external USB version. Any thoughts on this...personal experiences w/ these cards? Thx...

I have the PVR250 have used it in play or record mode for hours on end without a problem. It's been an awesome card. I'm not sure what the problem is but if it were me I would try another slot. It's been a very long time since I had to look it up, but I remember that 2 and 5 were shared on most if not all ATX boards at one time. You might check the manufacture's web site for your motherboard and see if this is the case.

Your last PCI slot might be sharing IRQ resources with your AGP slot and the top PCI Slot. Thats the way it is on my ABIT NF7-S. Having 2 graphics -esk cards sharing the same IRQ + the possibility of an additional "something" sharing that same IRQ as well, could lead to problems.

Besides the Hauppauge, found these...

MYHD MDP-120 and the Fusion HD3 QAM-T

Any first-hand experience w/ these?
