I'm looking at getting the Hauppauge PVR-350 for my AMD XP2100+ / XP system.
I hear its got hardware encoding/decoding, a remote control, AND the software supports TitanTV's guide.
Anyone else the PVR-250 or 350 care to share their experience?
How is the recorded TV show quality?
Does the software work well with XP Pro SP-1?
Is the guide software very good? Or buggy? Or??? Is it free? Do I enter my zip code and it gives me the right guide?
How is the remote control?
I would appreciate any advice you may have - I'm looking at getting a cheap PVR system that would simulate the DVD and PVR capabilities of the Microsoft Media Center PC w/o the useless extras that they pack.
The PVR software needs to be stable and reliable, but the video quality has to be decent as well.
I'm running 110 GB of HD space on this PC, 40 GB on a Maxtor D740X (ATA133/7.2k) and 75GB on a IBM 75GXP (ATA100/7.2k).
I record lots of TV shows - and the fall season/series premieres are too much for my 1990s era VCR to handle.
