Hauppauge PVR-500 setup question

I have Vista Ultimate and a Hauppauge PVR-500 tuner card. We subscribe to Direct TV Satellite so it is my assumption that I can't use a coaxial cable connection and must use two set top boxes outputting via s-video to the PVR-500 S-Video in and than via video card S-Video out to TV

Does the set top boxes need to carry audio out to the tuner as well?
