Yeah that should work, or you could do coax out from the box to the card and just leave the card on channel 3 all the time. Which PVR software are you going to use, and does it support guide-based TV recording using S-Video in? I'm guessing that you're planning on using the IR blaster with the card to change channels on the box when you want to record.
