for all you guys who got in on the deal but didn't manage to get the first shipment and were put on backorder, i just received an email from J&R saying that my order has been shipped complete with tracking number. woohooo!! so you guys should be getting yours soon too 😉
 
Mine is coming tomorrow.. they apparently shipped it tonight and I live like an hour away from them.. so I'll be expecting it tomorrow =)
 
Any hot deals on antennaes with this thing? Also does this card record normal ntsc analog cable signal programs? Or just the DTV signals.

ok it records analog tv in raw .avi format and it cant record dtv signals just yet.
 
I don't quite understand how DTV works. You can't get it through normal cable right? People talk about using antenna to get signals, but how clear is that? If its all or nothing, even if you use antenna, it'll be cable clear? And also, anyone know if NYC area, Manhattan gets DTV signals?

Heifetz, its pretty much all or nothing...sometimes u could get some weird distortions. Theres a review out on the net that shows the quality of DTV here ... Review and Comparison I'd say thats pretty damn good quality right there.
 
i got this a couple days ago and it's been crashing my computer alot since i installed it. is it cuz it takes up alot of memory, or should i try to re-install the win-tv program???
 
What os are you using? I have the same problem as yours with my STB TV card. When I switched my os from win 98 to winme( using win95 driver !?), my computer never crashed because of the card.
 
i just got mine in yesterday...and i can't seem to get any sound hmmm...can someone kindly pm with some info thank you in advance 🙂

connect the audio cable supplied with the card to the line-in of your soundcard... then make sure your Line-In is not muted... that sound work then
 
regarding the antennas, i'm not really sure which to get... i'll try to get a bow-tie one from radioshack and see if i get digital channels on it... if not, i'll get the Antiference Silver Sensor which has gotten some good reviews and is reportedly a heck of a good indoor antenna
 
Just talked to a CSR and J&R and they said they are going to cancel my order and give me a $5 credit because they are not stocking them anymore. OH well, I did not need it anyway! 🙂 Have fun!

well, least i got in on that Canon S10 2.1mp camera for $250 last fall 🙂 so i life isn't all bad, but darn it i've been looking for a tv input and that would have been perfect!! :disgust: :disgust: :disgust: :disgust:
 
to those who has this thing and using it. Could anyone tell me if there is a RCA input on this thing? So I can use my camcorder as a webcam in netmeeting with it?
