Hate Crimes?

I was walking to class and a group of people were yelling out stop hate crimes. Now i know hate crimes are considered to be against other races or religions and stuff like that, but unless you are mentally unstable then arent all crimes out of hate? Only reason why i list mentally unstable is because some people claim they kill out of love. There are exceptions to this, but for the most part people commit crimes from vandalism to killing out of hate. Either hate of property, group of people, or a person. I mean any crime against another person or animal imho should be considered a hate crime. And why stop hate crimes, is a person killing another person better if that person is the same race, religion, etc.

I don't believe all crimes are done out of hate.

Rape- Lust.
Theft- Greed.
Kidnapping- Greed.
Murder- Greed (as in hitman), Love of power over death.

Those are just some examples.

They need to do away with hate crimes altogether. Minorities can commit 'hate' crimes against non-minorites but can't technically be charged with a hate crime. It's like affirmative action for criminals.
