All T models are OEM only.
Why not just get the regular 54 watt i3-4170?

Budget?
Because... I want the 35W version. For my crowded mini-ITX rig with no chassis fan.Why not just get the regular 54 watt i3-4170?

You mean 4170T is only OEM or all Intel XXXXT models are OEM?
All as far as I know.
Ye, the 4130T looks like an exception. 50, 60, 70 and all 43xxT are all tray only.
Looks like both of the 6th generation Core I3-6XXXT series are sold in box and OEM.

Wonder how much power my wifes G1820 uses compared to the 4170T.I believe its rated for 54w but what kind of magic allows a higher clocked chip with HT to use less power?Do the clocks drop dramatically low when its fully utilized?
Is it all in the IGP?
