Hasselblad H2D 39MP camera

Eh, more practical to shoot medium format and then scan it in something like an Epson 4990.

Then again, whoever has the money will spend the money. All the more power to them I suppose.

If you aren't too anal about your color and grain and have no need for a small something called workflow 😉

For $40k they couldn't make it NOT ugly?

I think it looks cool. My question would be what's the dynamic range? I'd trade half the MP for a couple extra stops.

Nice. I read somewhere that ASA100 film is ~24MP, so this is better than that!

35mm 100 film is not nearly 24MP from a DSLR. It's more like 6-10MP depending on how you measure. Considering current high-end DSLR technology is MF competitive, I'd bet 39MP out-resolves most medium format film easily.

um that is horribly wrong iso 100 and 200 film still has MUCH finer grain than 10 mp cameras
especially slide film

Nope. Have you examined a properly exposed ISO 100 Canon 20D photo? There is almost no noise (grain) at all. Film easily has more grain at equal ratings. The debate centers around whether more resolution is contained if we discount the grain.

I can point you towards websites showing an 11mp DSLR having nearly the same resolution as MF film.

...but it's a kodak ccd... hopefully they make good ones now.

Besides, I think CMOS is starting to become more popular.
