Has Verizon boosted their download speed?

I remember seeing a thread about two months ago in regards to Verizon boosting their download speed to 3mbps. I get that now with comcast, but I'm also getting rape by their prices. I've NEVER had a problem with comcast, whereas when I first started with telocity i had outages and other issues.

So far, cable rules DSL, but money is money!

You will have to call are request Verizon to upgrade you, just like they did going from 768 to 1.5, and 128k to 384k upstream.

However I haven't heard anything about the downstream upgrade yet this month, but you might want to check broadbandreports.com first.

3mbps isn't officially available yet, and there is no firm date on when it is. All speculation and theories point to sometime in August though. The distance is also currently being being speculated at anywhere between 8,000 feet and 15,000 feet. Most think it'll be like 11,000 feet. The price is also a subject of much speculation. Some think it will be no price increase, others are saying $45. I think no price increase is the majority concensus though.
