Due to the different processors, I'd expect it to be a pain in the arse to implement, and fairly 'low-yield' for the work involved?
 
If you find a common platform to run, it is easy. Like, by example, if you have Microsoft Office fully ported on a platform, "script" viruses (Visual Basic for Applications, or macros) would infect that platform.
As for having binary code that runs on both Palm/PalmOS and x86/Windows, good luck 🙂
 
I think their are viruses that run on Palm and similar mobile devices, you would have to do a google search to keep yourself safe.
 
PDA viruses and Trojans have been around since 2000, and they are a threat. But - there are now decent AV programs to deal with them. Example:
