Has there ever been a lawsuit because someone did not get hired because he/she was ugly?

Has there ever been a lawsuit where a person claimed discrimination based on looks? I am not asking whether such a thing can even be proven, I am just asking if anyone is familiar with a case where such discrimination was claimed?

Do you feel as though you were discriminated against?

Some people would die just from the embarrasment of such a lawsuit.

Probably been done - very hard to prove so almost certainly not worth even trying.

Employers are allowed to discriminate based on looks in jobs that require a certain appearance (i.e., modeling, etc.)

Just a useless factoid.

Employers are allowed to discriminate based on looks for any job. The ugly aren't a protected class. :)

They are also allowed to discriminate based on race or sex if it's a job that requires a certain appearance. (i.e., modeling, acting and various other jobs)

I wouldn't doubt it.

There was a story a while back.. can't remember which show it was on, but they took 2 people.. one considered ugly, the other considered handsom.. applied to different jobs.

Well, needless to say, they found that looks do indeed matter.

Who would you rather have trying to sell a product? Fat old dude or hot sharp 30 year old woman? I know which one I'd hire!

That's not the point, though. It was clearly discrimination.

When they came back and confronted the potential employers later, there was a lot of camera grabbing and shouting. :p

Isn't that the point though? it was discrimination and it will always happen forever because looks do sell and looks are good and between two people the ugly one has less to offer to a potential employer in plenty of areas, not just ones that one might think are directly related to appearance. And it will happen whether it's legal or not!
