Has there ever been a band that's been more successful...

So I was listening to Colision Course today and I got to thinking. These guys have had four very successful albums and only two of them were actually original work.

If they follow this trend I'm thinking their next album will be a cover album. After that a greatest hits album perhaps. Then maybe they'll release an original album. Chances are they'll probably find yet another way to rehash crap they've already done, though.

Has anyone ever done more with less?

Haha, good point. Funny thing is, I bought all 4 of those CDs... ;)

Actually, they did release another re-hash of Meteora. It was supposed to be a Live show they did in Texas. I didn't buy that. Thats 5 CDs.

I like their stuff, and I think it sounds good, but I really do dislike the re-hashes. I loved Hybrid Theory and Metora, but I wish they would come out with more real albums instead of "remixes".

Sure, there're a lot of boy bands & young female vocalists that follow the RIAA's Template For Success. Not saying they're worse than linkin park (that would be quite an accomplishment), but they're similar enough.

5 under the name of Linkin Park, and 1 as a different band. They released an LP when they were known as Hybrid Theory. So... its either 5 or 6, up to you :)

Hybrid Theory
Reanimation
Metora
Live in Texas
Collison Course

I'm not talking about bands/artists with cookie cutter music. I'm talking about bands/artists that release the same exact songs over and over and over again with a different spin on them.

i saw them in concert with metallica. they were horrible. i can't say i've ever seen anyone so talentless on that big a stage before.

and then fred durst came on.... actually, he's a great frontman, tons of energy, really entertaining.

I liked Hybrid Theory when it came out. Metora was fair. Reanimation sucked. And don't even get me started on that Jay-Z remix.... :|

You gotta hand it to LP. The OP is right. They have been milking the last two albums for YEARS. It took forever for their first album to come out. Some bands come out with a new one ever year. For LP, it's every 5 years.
