Has there been any news about size limitations for the new App Store?

Program Size that is.

I'm sure most apps won't be very large at all, but when you have 7.5gb of Music and Movies on an 8gb iPhone, the space for apps isn't all too large.

I imagine some of the more comprehensive apps could get decently sizable (pending the content is stored on the phone and not accessed via the network).

Anyone know?

This is the reason why I'll be picking up a 16GB phone. I might even hold off for the 32GB, just in case. 32GB is perfect on my iPodTouch. I have about 25GB to devote to music, photos, and movies, and then the other 7GB for software, etc...

All that I've seen is that the applications won't exceed 2GB in size... that doesn't tell us much at all though. How much of the space is used by the OS and iPhone related applications? That might give something to judge off of.

It uses much less than 1GB. My 16GB iPhone shows a capacity of 14.84 in iTunes. When you take the 1000-1024 disparity into account, the capacity should be 14.90. That's only a 60MB difference.

Update. I just installed the new 2.0 firmware, and iTunes now shows my iPhone with a capacity of 4.65GB. That means the new firmware uses up 250MB. That's a lot more than the old firmware, but it's a lot less than 1GB
