Has the smiley button on the post formatting toolbar always been there?

I accidentally clicked on it when I intended to post an image a minute ago and had a bit of a wtf moment.

Yes, but it's deactivated when the code button is active 🥷, and it's deep in the menu on mobile. 🤿 Plus it didn't used to include all the emojis.

I don't have the excuse of the first two possibilities (I use code mode sometimes but generally I use the wysiwyg editor), maybe I looked at it once when it didn't apparently have lots of emojis?

Over the years though, other people here have used emojis and I didn't think to look at it again. Having said that, I'm not a big user of emojis despite my wife's encouragement via the instant messaging app we use.
