Has the shortage of Wiis made the ps3 or xbox360 an option now?

no. not really a substitute. and that is nintendo's genius. compete with msft and sony by not competing with them.

Not around here. Stores get 20 at a time and you have to line up two hours before they open to get one.

I love my 360. My brother has a Wii and I am glad I didn't get one.

While it is fun, I don't normally have many people over at my house. It seems to me that most of the fun with the Wii is with a group of people. A group of us had a blast with games such as rayman raving rabbids, but I doubt it would be fun by myself. That's just my personal opinion, I"m sure that there are others that love it playing solo.

I'm also a big online multiplayer person, so Xbox live is a huge deciding factor.

Either way, Wii is a totally different console. Too hard to compare it with the PS3/360

xbox360 maybe for a more traditional gamer, and not someone who is sold on the wii.

The ps3? well the fact that the bestbuy near my house had 57 of the 60gb models (although, rumor says there are no more 20gigs?) and only 1 xbox 360, 0 wii's kinda tells me that the PS3 still isn't an option 😉

Not around here. Do you have a link to someplace it can be bought online (for retail price)? I know several people who would be interested in that info.

I second that. I wouldn't replace a wii with a 360 or ps3. I would pair it up with one of the latter. One for my friends (who don't really play games normally, just to hangout) and one for me to play gears and such. FTW =)

The Wii is a complementary system with excellent first-party support. Why do you think there's a whole site devoted to the idea of Wii60? I also think that the PSWii will become a viable idea once more games are available.

So no, the shortage of Wiis hasn't made one of those other systems more of an option than they were before since the Wii wasn't ever supposed to compete directly.
