Has the internet made investing easier?

Investment advice abounds on as many forums as there is people to read'm.

Has the internet made investing more safe and easier then it was 30 or 40 years ago, where data was always a few hours old at best, and there was such an abundance of information to make a decision on?

i dunno about safe... i think people are a lot more likely to think they know what they're doing these days. but it certainly is easier... i mean it's just a few clicks.
