Has the Intarweb raised the general level of education among Homo Sapiens?

Is it beneficial to us humans or has it only increased the amount of dumb $hit for people to learn about.

IMO the Intarweb has been good. What's your take?

I agree on the lazy part. I used to go to the library but now I mostly just hit up google. For in-depth knowledge I still prefer teh library.

i think most of the technology makes people less likely to rely on their memory for information. the internet and spell checker seems to represent this in its most base form to me. the longer we continue to be able to easily access information from an outside source, the less it seems we worry about maintaining that knowledge within.
sometimes this seems horrible, sometimes this seems wonderful.

So the human brain is degenerating?

It increased the flow of information more instantaneous and faster, but are they "intelligent" information?

Hard to say.

But we get porn on the fly 😀

And no one ever spelled it "intarweb" before the popularity of hypertext.

To conclude, people can go to the library, or they can watch soft porn on Cinemax. Having useful information available doesn't render you a genius.

The 'Intarweb' spelling in this thread was supposed to be (somewhat) ironic.

You're right. The avalability of information will not make anyone smart. I still think the general level of knowledge has been improved (hopefully).

While the internet has made information quick and easy to access, it has also made misinformation quick and easy to access as well.

All it's really done is accelerated the death of the English language. Wut ur 2 plz 4 u 2 b??/?/ .... Dumber, definitely dumber.

Like all technology some people use it others are used by it. Valuable information is easily accessible to to the few and to the geneal masses useless rubbish.

COnsidering that 60% of internet users have some form on Bonzai Buddy installed on their computer, with the desktop stripper humping it, I'm picking the "yes, but with porn" option.

JOEY: Ross, if homo sapiens actually were homo sapiens, is that
why they're extinct?

ROSS: Joey, they are people!

JOEY: Hey, I'm not judging!

hahaha

I agree. I know sometimes it feels like I don't know *anything* without a comp in front of me, but sit me down with google and I'll have an answer in 5 minutes or less.
