Has the heat-sensing diode on the new Athlon "saved" anyone from frying their CPU yet?

This was a topic of much discussion several months ago, but I haven't heard of anyone's CPU being "saved" by this feature.

As far as I know, hte only mb i've heard of that has more advanced CPU thermal protection are the newer Asus motherboards. Beyond that, i'm not sure. Internal diode support for XP chips is still sorely lacking
