Has Sonic officially answered the "tip" question by accepting credit cards and not having a tip line option?

I was always unsure of whether to tip or not at Sonic.

Last time I went, I noticed they accept credit/debit cards now.

Well, there's not even an option to tip with those
like you'd normally find on a restuarant credit card receipt.

So. I guess Sonic does not really expect tips?

They come out to your car at Sonic..

It's a Drive in place like you see on Grease or Happy Days

The cute car hop will just steal your CC info and give herself (or himself) a big tip.

same shiznit happened to me at FURRs last night. I paid w/ CC and didn't leave a tip. I was working with a both of restaurant workers, and they got pissed I didn't tip. They said I should have wrote the tip line in. I tried to explain to them that the creditard system is not setup for thinks like that

That looks like a real restaurant

Did you have a waitress?

The receipts have had tip lines at the two local Sonics I've been to recently. I only give a tip if they bring the food out to me, not if I use the drive-through.

it isn't like a restraunt where they swipe the card and enter the amount later... when they swipe your card, they have to enter the amount for your purchase at that time... that is why there is no tip line
