First of all, the military cannot be used legally on US soil (See Posse Comitatus Act)
Secondly, you are assuming that the military would 100% follow order from D.C. How many "right wingers" do you think are in the military?

In the event of an armed insurrection, I'm willing to bet the government would ignore any restrictions and order the military to deploy here.

They already ignore the Constitution. I doubt they would follow it during a rebellion

Well, from what I hear, the Military has been getting some less than stellar apples in their ranks.

Even if 25% of the military follows orders, they have tanks, copters, and them damn riot sticks.

Of course that is assuming the other portion of the military doesnt side with us.

You should at least look at Wikipedia. The President can deploy troops to put down insurrection and rebellion. And I'm sure if some fringe right-wing nitwits commit acts of terrorism over health care reform the majority of the population and the military would turn against them.

I would be all for a rebellion, but I am of course an anarchist at heart.

but the only way armed violence would take much of an effect is if a minimum of Several thousand people started it rather than a few hundred.

Terrorist actions would be almost useless in a case of rebelling. You just piss the people you are trying to help off, just ask Al Queida how they are doing.

ROFL.

Alright tab, you try to organize a civilian, militia-based, armed revolution against the entire freaking US military (let alone law enforcement). Have fun with that.

At the end of the day, Obama is not my concern.

Congress is my concern. Each and every douche who has made a career out of kissing ass to lobbyists.

Every member of the US military swears an oath to defend the United States against enemies, foreign and domestic.

Who says they can't decide that the US government is a domestic enemy of the Constitution?

Try several 10s of thousands. At minimum. And you'd need support of a significant portion of the military, as nowadays only the military has the technology and training to defeat itself.

And to anyone who points out the Vietcong and how they "won", I would refer you to the casualty numbers:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vietnam_War

US
58,159 dead;[6]
1,724 missing;
303,635 wounded[7]

North Vietnam & NLF
1,176,000 dead/missing;[6]
600,000+ wounded[9]

I had these thoughts inspired by a long time forum member CycloWizard

With that said, I think he might be right. Obama has gone too far, no? His backroom dealing, socialism, liberalism is destroying this country. He is obviously not listening to our laws, so why should we?
Hope you're looking forward to a couple years in Cuba, specifically guantanamo bay :p

Just a little reality about a person you just called a douche..

"On April 21, 1945, Inouye was grievously wounded while leading an assault on a heavily-defended ridge near Terenzo called Colle Musatello. The ridge served as a strongpoint along the strip of German fortifications known as the Gothic Line, which represented the last and most dogged line of German defensive works in Italy. As he led his platoon in a flanking maneuver, three German machine guns opened fire from covered positions just 40 yards away, pinning his men to the ground. Inouye stood up to attack and was shot in the stomach; ignoring his wound, he proceeded to attack and destroy the first machine gun nest with hand grenades and fire from his M1 Thompson submachine gun. After being informed of the severity of his wound by his platoon sergeant, he refused treatment and rallied his men for an attack on the second machine gun position, which he also successfully destroyed before collapsing from blood loss.

As his squad distracted the third machine gunner, Inouye crawled toward the final bunker, eventually drawing within 10 yards. As he raised himself up and cocked his arm to throw his last grenade into the fighting position, a German inside fired a rifle grenade that struck him on the right elbow, severing most of his arm and leaving the primed grenade reflexively "clenched in a fist that suddenly didn't belong to me anymore".[4] Inouye's horrified soldiers moved to his aid, but he shouted for them to keep back out of fear his severed fist would involuntarily relax and drop the grenade. As the German inside the bunker reloaded his rifle, Inouye managed to successfully pry the live grenade from his useless right hand and transfer it to his left. As the German aimed his rifle to finish him off, Inouye managed at last to toss the grenade off-hand into the bunker and destroy it. He stumbled to his feet and continued forward, silencing the last German resistance with a one-handed burst from his Thompson before being wounded in the leg and tumbling unconscious to the bottom of the ridge. When he awoke to see the concerned men of his platoon hovering over him, his only comment before being carried away was to gruffly order them return to their positions, since, as he pointed out, "nobody had called off the war".[4]"

They can, but I imagine it would take a very, very, very extreme act on the part of the government to spur them to do so. Current Healthcare reform isn't even in the right hemisphere.

It's going to get a lot worse before it gets any better.

Worst president in the history of our nation. Most divisive president ever. Most harmful president ever. worst president ever.

Really? Worse than slick willy?

Gotta love it when the fringe-whacks claim to be in the majority...

And proceed to rave on about armed insurrection and a bunch of other really stupid shit.

We already had a revolution of sorts- at the polls, in November, 2008. And, for sure, it'll get even worse for tea-bagger wannabees if they start shooting, bet on that.

The Constitution, something barely comprehended in those quarters, doesn't allow for it- something apparently lost in translation to gullible and ignorant nutjob doublespeak...

First, the act prevents them from serving in a police/peace officer capacity (only).

Second, if necessary, Congress can approve domestic U.S. military action.

Read the fucking act before you spout shit.

Maybe the mods should step in here and lock this one down, all this suggestions of murder on both sides.

If you feel so strongly just go to elections and make your votes count. This is a civilized country we settle differences with votes not killings. That goes to all who suggested violence.
