Well i am going to be upgrading my Motherboard, CPU, and Memory. (as soon as i receive it from mwave. cant.... wait.. much... longer. hehe)
this is what i am getting: 8HKA+, AMD2000, and 512mb of 2100ddr.

I just recently reinstalled windows 2k and im not in the mood to reinstall it again.

I would like to hear some success stories and what process did you go through in order to correctly do the swap.

I searched through the forums on this topic and from what i gather win2k doesnt like switching out motherboard very much.
So if anyone has successfully done this any tips/pointers, will be appericated.

thanks

I think you can change the motherboard if the storage drivers are the same. I made a change from Abit Kg7 to Kr7a. I had my boot HD on a scsi card so drivers for that didn't change.

I don't know how similar Windows 2K is to XP with regards to complete changes of devices, but when I changed from Via Apollo Pro 133a motherboard to an Intel i845D in XP, I had to go through the DOS Windows XP installation program and repair the current installation, which just detected and installed the new devices.
