has my hard drive gone bad??

I have an IBM DeskStar 60GXP (IC35L040AVER07) ... 40GB disk...

I have started to notice random lockups on my computer and a couple of times when the computer lockup, I noticed that the hard disk started making clicking sounds. And it just doesn't stop ... just like stuck in an infinite loop.

Has my HD gone bad?

Download and run IBM's Drive Fitness Test. It will diagnose your drive. I believe IBM requires it run before you can get an RMA anyways.
