Has my CPU crapped out, my vid card, or is it Windows?

I'm running Win98SE, and I just did a clean re-install to see if I could fix some problems with my vid card getting low scores. Beforehand, the chip was tested to be 100% rock solid thru Sandra Burn-in, Prime 95 (9+ hours), and a combination of running all three....

The problem before was that my 3d mark scores were low, around 7K, despite the high processor speed and good OC of the card (305/550).

Now, my graphics card has problems when I set the fsb above 115. This is after the clean install. After around 120, I will get an error saying my card is incompatible with my settings, and I can't get more than 16bit color at 640 X 480. after 115 fsb, I can't run 3dMark and my games will restart randomly.

BUT the performance of the card has improved dramatically...9667 was my last score with 115fsb, video @ 305/550.

I KNOW I can destroy that 10K mark if I can at the very least run at 133fsb. I KNOW my cpu can scale to at least 2.8Ghz and still be stable. But neither is an option right now.

So the question is, is my CPU crapped out from all the OC fun I've been having (I was stable at 155fsb, 1.63v for 1 week). Is my vidcard just not reacting well to high fsb (doubt it...it ran fine before the reinstall). Or, should I upgrade my OS (probably gonna do that soon anyway "for school"). If I get WinXP PRO (very good discount...), will it help things?

As a side note, I also tried the integrated graphics when I thought my Abit G4 was dead....but I also get problems when I go past 115fsb. I've read about the 2.1Ghz issue with Win 98SE, perhaps that could be it? I installed all the latest updates though....perhaps I missed something?

You appear to have the ingredients for overclocking your 1.8A to the 533MHz bus, is there any reason you don't do that? Wouldn't that put all your busses at proper in-spec speeds?

My guess is that you had the agp/pci locked, but after the reinstall when setting it up you somehow inadvertantly changed that. Try to lock the agp to get it back in spec. Then you should have no problems.

sorry for the slow response....been moving back to school.

Anyway, yes, I can easilly put it to 133fsb on default voltage. Unfortunately, my vid card (and even the integrated graphics) fail for some reason. AGP/PCI were 66/33, and at 155fsb, they were at 68/38 using the divider. My board has no PCI/AGP lock, but the dividers can keep the buses within tolerance.
