I'm running a Albatron PEX845 mb with the AC97 integrated sound. It's enabled in the bios & according the the software program, nothing is muted. I'm using an Altec Lansing ACS495 speaker system. It has power as the indicator light is on. All the connections appear to be good. I don't seem to have any sound, tho. I noticed I didn't get a "humm" when I was checking the speaker plug-in to the plug-in on the motherboard, tho.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

remove it and install it again. I've got the same problems but when I removed it and installed it again it worked just fine

And when I mean remove it I dont mean that you should remove it from the case but from that Microsoft's thing were you can see info of like processor, graphics card, sound card etc. Dont know what it is called in english =)

Tried that...nothing.
It's funny that it's happened all of a sudden. It was working before I unhooked it & rearranged the office.

AC97? how old is the board? My brother's onboard AC97 audio died after a year of use. You might want to invest in a Sound Blaster audio card soon.

I also had problems with my onboard AC97 sound, I ended up just getting a cheap soundblaster sound card and I have not had problems since. If everything is plugged in properly and you have reinstalled the drivers I would also suggest getting a cheap soundblaster card, you can get one from newegg.com for like 20$
