Has my 7900gt reached its OC limit?

If you look closely at the sky in the above pics, there are small black dots all over the place. During game play, these black dots are bouncing around the sky rapidly.

I had my 7900gt OCed at 700/810 for a while and had no problems. THe other day I decided to turn it up a little more and see if it could take it, its now at 710/835. It seemed fine for a while, but I just today started to notice BF2 tweaking out like this. Temps during game play are fine, about 71-72. I dont see anything like this in Rthdribl or 3d Mark though. Does this look like its caused from the card being OCed too much? Is this because of the ram or the core being too high?

Looks like it's above the limit. Try turning the RAM down and see what happens.

Your core can go to 710MHz? Did you volt-mod it? I hate you, by the way. Mine crashes at 680MHz.

hehe, yes I volt modded it. Its running at 1.5 volts, I just used the conductive ink method, really easy and cheap.

Nice! I would do that except that I'm a clumsy idiot and would probably end up getting conductive ink all over the card.

I'm guessing that if your games are stable, then your core is fine, so it's a memory issue. I used to have my memory OC'd to 825MHz; it would artifact in Rainbow Six: Vegas but everything else would be fine. I could also run 3DMark with no problems with the memory at 833MHz but it would artifact in a lot of games. I guess different games will have different effects on RAM...

Thats what I was looking for, thanks.

As for the conductive ink. I was kind of clumsy with it too. It didnt come out right until the third try and I was even using tape to mask off the path I took. If you screw up you can just clean it off with a high percentage rubbing alcohol.
