Has Microsoft resolved the Vista slow file transfer issue yet?

Like many others I have the issue of very slow copying times when attempting to move files around in Vista. I've tried enabling and disabling various settings in an effort to correct this issue but so far it still persists. I installed SP1 awhile back and that did'nt seem to address the problem either. I'm just curious if other Vista users out there have managed to overcome this issue. If so what did you do?

I slipstreamed SP1 and I do not experience the slow file transfers, so I don't know if that's an option for you or not or if it will even fix your problem.

SP1 has fixed this problem for me (for the most part). Do you have software running in the background that might interfere with file transfer?

Are you running firewall, spyware, spam, antivirus, etc? What exactly are you running? What services did you disable?

sp1 also solved the issue on my dad's laptop, this is from a fresh install in order to remove the hp bloatware...

Vista Buisness 32 bit in my case w/sp1 still seems very slow on file transfers. From or to my NAS box or the other XP machines on my network any file copy seems much slower when a Vista box is in the loop.

Keep in mind that XP and Vista measure file transfers differently. XP considers the task done the moment a transfer is written to memory, Vista does not consider a transfer done until it is written to disk.

Hmm on the two machines I have installed SP1. I saw dramatic increases in network copy speed.
