this isn't a troll post, but what I feel is a legit question. Not sure it has already been discussed in the massive topic already, but this question keeps popping in my head. I can't be the only one thinking about this. Will he come back to this forum? Will we be able to trust what he says after this fiasco?

I'm specifically talking about this comment:

"IPC will be higher
Single threaded performance will be higher

That is all we can say at this point."

or..is it possible even he didn't know the final numbers and was not told the truth?

I don't like where this is going...this is not what we are here to do, we are not a mob out for blood. If you want answers to these kinds of questions you know how/where to contact JFAMD (pm's, his blog, etc).

For now, put yer pitchforks down people. Bulldozer is the reality, deal with reality.

Member credibility is always a relevant concern for every member here, but it is also a sensitive topic and one which is prone to bringing out the least flattering sides of ourselves. Let's be above petty.

I am temporarily locking this thread while convening with fellow mods to determine its ultimate fate.

eh, the last few years AMD's hype has seemingly been revolved around speculated performance rather than actual performance. That's why I wasn't expecting bulldozer to live up such statements.

I really dont think he will be back.

He has lost all credibility to me. But hey, he works in marketing, not engineering. It is his job to hype things.

He's a devoted employee, and a loyal one.
He must be commended for that - imho.

It's hard to imagine his heart wasn't in the right place.

The question is more about his sanity, perception and intelligence - so to speak.

There's pretty much 2 options:

A:
He was being fed rough/wrong information and was just going with it, cause well the off chance Bull'don't'zor was actually worse than the older product was thought as inconceivable.
Turns our fate is a cruel foe indeed.

SLASH/

He was going by various internal ES benchmarks and that those would improve with X ammount before retail stepping.

B:

He was flat out lying/hyping.

Now, i don't think he'd be as stupid as B, i don't think anyone would.

But one must ask the question, that i posed in several threads:

If you as a chief marketing officer in a division upon the verge of releasing a new "groundbreaking" redesign of your core product - starts hyping and technicly "leaking" info for the same redesign in another division within your company - How incredibly inept are you at job?
(Don't come saying "he's doing it out of personal oppinion!" - he's a officer for fucks sake - he'll ALWAYS ALWAYS be biased period - and it's just bad class. As an officer you should know better imho)

How bad is the organization when Officers of different divisions within company spend time hyping other divisions products up?
(And, not "publicly" but in specialized geeky subcommunities that are niche of a division not your own.)

How bad is management in general when they let this happen? clearly full well knowing the upcoming performance / value of the redesign?

Imho didn't Mr. John Fruehe stop posting sometime around august?

Or earlier?

I geuss at that point he full well knew, Bull'dont'zor would simply.... be epic fail - Barcelona V2.
