there was this girl I kinda enjoyed talking to because she seemed realistically pessimistic and pretty intelligent.

then I realized I had fallen for her trick: she actually just uses big words and complains about how stupid this or that is (because she doesn't understand it)

Yep, but the girl in my case was egocentric on top of pretentious and close-minded.
Haven't talked to her in ages, she IMed me every once in awhile about how great her life is and as soon as I even mentioned something I did she just didn't respond.
 
Yep. There is one in particular who seems agreeable enough when I'm alone with her. She is a completely different person in a group setting; a shallow, pretentious, attention whore. I still keep in contact with her only because she is so damn hot.

Totally. 🙂 In my case she was actually absolutely brilliant and pretty cute, but god what a bitch and terrible friend. It still pains me a little to have cut all ties with her but in the end it's for the best.

yeah, sometimes it actually pains me so I want to jump up and shout "What could that possibly mean? That nonsensical crap you just said defies every rule in the english language!"

Next time she says something pretentious, chuckle and say "Do you believe even half the bull**** that comes out of your mouth?"
