The New Hampshire Secretary of State said he's "not seeking to remove any names from the presidential primary ballot," though he will seek legal input on the issue.

Note, these appear to be GOP efforts, not Dems.

I don't care how loyal these republicans have been in the past, they immediately become RINO's to the cult members. lol at the stupidity of people. Let's hope other states join in. My biggest concern is that I think Biden would beat Trump again. Some other candidate against Joe, especially freed from having to kiss Trump's ass like Haley, could win, and I don't want a Republican in ever again.

I'm proud of Corkey for having the courage to go against the Orange Menace who endorsed him when he ran for 1 of the US Senate seats here in NH. I still can't stand him but I am proud of him.

I saw that and thought it was interesting. Curious to see where it goes from here.

Not expecting the state party members to show much spine when push comes to shove and the MAGA crazies start targeting them.

Seems like all you need is a couple of swing state courts to disqualify him and its basically all over.

Is that definitely how it works? On the face of it it seems right, it would only take a very few critical states making such a ruling and he can't win so has no point running. So it seems quite achievable. But is it entirely up to the state courts? Could it end up with SCOTUS? (I don't know, genuinely asking)

Say what you will, but I think a majority of the people do realize what Biden has done. People know Biden tried to free people from college loan burden even through that failed, and people know what the infrastructure bill is doing because all I hear is anger that all the streets are torn up. So Biden's infrastructure efforts are obviously working.
And I believe most people want the US to help Ukraine. I think most people realize what it would mean if we just bailed on Ukraine and allowed Putin to take over. People do not want that.

Yeah, Joe Biden is old and really shouldn't run again. A lot of people think that. But when you weigh in nikki haley or any of the others including Ron DeSantis, I totally believe Joe Biden would easily win. When it comes down to the nitty gritty I don't believe Joe has anything to worry about. Yeah like I said Joe is one old dude but a majority do like what Joe is doing.

Republicans are going to lose in 2024 no matter who runs against Joe and no matter what happens to Donald Trump. People realize what is going on. People do not want their libraries shut down nor their books banned. And people know that not one kid is being threatened by any DRAG QUEEN.

A lot of people know all that. Unfortunately a lot of other people know the exact opposite of all that because they let people tell them what to think.

Seems to me that a public revolt against Trump on the ballot would be an appropriate avenue for situationally appropriate vigilantism.

I desperately hope Trump is not elected. That said, he has not yet been convicted of any crime that would disqualify him from being on the ballot. Unfortunately, until, or unless, he is convicted, I dont see how it is justified to removal is justified.

The Dems cant afford to be overconfident, neither the party leaders or the voters themselves. A high voter turnout is critical to defeat Trump or whoever else might be the Rep candidate.

And the people who know all that need to get off their asses and vote.

We need around the clock coverage of how shitty the GOP track record is when they have any amount of power.

Edit: I want that guy on the ballot. I want him to be found guilty 2 weeks before the election and I want republican voters to be ashamed of their party.

That last thing isn't going to happen.

I’m putting zero stock in these efforts. If the GOP really wants to ditch Trump, then they’ll have to defeat him in the primary process. I guess that’s one argument in favor of open primaries?

I can definitely picture a scenario where, if Trump were the final GOP presidential candidate and kept off the ballot in Michigan, for example, the local party would just nominate another GOP shill with full expectation that, if they win, their delegates can just pledge their votes to Trump.

Said shill would not garner enough votes. They need the nameplate to get the votes.

The thing is with the GQP'ers trying to get Trump off the ballot - most of them are just as shitty as Trump, they just think he can't win for them. Otherwise they are just as evil.

There are a few GQP'ers who are actually moderate trying to do this, but never forget, most are still devoted pieces of shit who just want to win, and support an agenda as bad as Trump. They just feel he isn't a winner anymore, and they want to win so they can be in power and evil.

^^^ 14-3 does not require conviction or even criminal charges.

That he and others engaged in such acts is not in question.

Has Trump been charged with Insurrection?
I can guarantee you that if Section 3 is invoked against Trump with no finding of fact by a court that he engaged in insurrection that Trump will not be the last target.
How would you feel if a Texas State official invokes 14-3 against Biden because he didn't secure the border? We don't want to give state officials this much power.

The best way to defeat Trump is through the ballot box.
