at my area Orange County, CA. ALL the kids play CS. I see them walk out of classrooms talking about the mp5 and how they shank other users. These kids are all types of kids, not the nerd kids, or computer kids.


4 LAN hangouts has spawned within a 10 mile radius from my house. They all advertise "CS LAN gaming on 30 computers, T1!!!!!" that kinda stuff. Its caught on in my area dramtacially, how about yours?



I use to feel "proud" that what i play not much peopleplayed, but now they all play it, time for something new...
 
I wish it was popular here. People around here would rather smoke meth than touch a computer, let alone play CS. I live in the asscrack of LA 🙁
 
CS or "crack for nerds" as we like to call it, has been quite popular at GA Tech for about a year now. I'm sure my grades would be better sans CS. It sure is fun playing it on a LAN like ours!
 
All types play CS. It's not really defined to any personality set, either. Having run several 250+ people tourney's, I've seen all walks of people from 12 to 50 years old. I'm constantly amazed at the people that play, and even more so of the skill that they show when they do. You never know if the guy that's fragging you online is some kid with the latest cheat or a 40 yr old woman who has great hand eye coordination. That's one of the things that makes gaming so fun...the anonymity and the enjoyment that you get from it.
 
A large amount of people at my school play it. They say they are good but I beat them...😛
 
CS is pretty cool, but I enjoy the Day of Defeat mod even more. I hope that mod catches on as quickly and becomes as popular (or even surpass) CS.

I know quite a few people who swear by CS but my friends have different tastes I suppose.
 
Well, CS has been popular with people I know here for close to a year now. I usually only play on 1 server with people I know. If thats full then usually some Day of Defeat. That is a great mod.
 
DOD is a much more fun mod for me... i love the levels and the balance of the players... also reinforcement style of play is much more fun than waiting around. to each his own though... i guess its really because i am horrible at CS. These are the most fun games i have played in a long time. i guess my $40 investment in halflife has paid off.
 
the cure for the CS crack addiction has several steps:
1)reformat
2)realize you're not doing so hot in school
3)be too lazy to get the cd out of the bag its on on the floor 🙂
