Where in Los Angeles Specifically? You can go a couple miles past a freeway (405) and it will be a rich and safe neighborhood (el segundo) but you can go a couple miles the other way and it will be Compton.

I love how people stereotype.
You dont think this sort of thing happens in other areas? I bet it was all people of a colored decent that did these crimes as well, right?

Hasn't changed the way I live...
In the 18 years I lived at home, we never once locked our house. We very rarely even locked our cars. No crime/burglary/robbery ever happened on our block in the 21 years I've been alive.
This is a midwestern town of about 10,000 people.
How is that a stereotype? If anything you are the one opening the door to racial connection with crime.Originally posted by: tarheelmm

I almost feel dumb asking, but are you asking about crime in beverly hills?

Well, my wife is going to be working there, so we wanted to live close by. I was wondering about the surrounding areas around that since Beverly hills is so expensive.

What city is your wife going to work specifically?

My friend works in beverly hills but lives in between Westwood and Santa monica (Sawtelle area). Says the commute to work is about 15-20 minutes to Beverly hills and he pays around 600 for his own room out of a 3 bedroom apartment. I would think you can get a decent place for a more reasonable price there than in Beverly Hills. If you don't need upscale, you can check out the Palms area or Culver City. Those aren't are as nice, but still pretty safe and considerably less expensive.

In the town I live in thoes things the OP listed don't happen. If they do happen, then you're in the city, probably near the ghetto.

Cool, thanks for info. I was told the commute from Santa Monica to Beverly Hills was over a hour?
