Has CoolerMaster lost it's mind?

Those are for people who want a custom painted case. I do remember someone saying the paintjob is actually very high quality.

Or you could just get the regular Cosmos for a lot less.

The custom paint jobs are the work of Smooth Creations and they're hand-done -- not some automated thing at the CM factory. Taking into account the man-hours it would take, the per hour wages paid to whoever does it, and the fact that the Cosmos is a higher end case to begin with, it doesn't seem so exorbitant.

Personally, I'm not so vain as to care about a fancy paint job, but I guess if you're the type who can afford SkullTrail, you might also want something to set your case apart from the cookie cutter cases.

Several threads on these cases have predated this one. General consensus = not worth the $$$ to most.

That there is very true, I don't see the problem with it.

Also, for those that don't know Smooth Creations are the same guy's the do all of Falcon Northwest's painting.

Never seen a $800+ case before and was shocked when it popped up on newegg... Time is money and if this is hand painted custom and unique it has value.

I've been fishing for two months in Canada - Come back and all hells broke loose. Search kaput, hardware and games are out I never heard of, Anandtechs running all teasers without actually reviewing, cases for $1000! Maybe I need to stay away😛

Yeah, there's somewhat of a complaint thread in General Hardware about this.

Here is the thread if you are interested:

I'm new to anandtech, so I don't know personally if it is a valid complaint.

- lots of great ideas.

im actually considering doing some custom paint work on my case once im done lapping every cooler in my system (yes im going to lap my NB and SB coolers, the things are fucking CHROME plated 😵). im probably just going to use left over higher grit paper, but i was thinking i might do a mirror finish on part of it and then use painters tape to put some cool design on it with different colors in different spots and some of the steel showing through with a mirror finish, then coating the whole job using the same type of wax they use on cars to protect it. i will probably do the whole thing with spray paint, saran wrap, lapping paper, and a whole lot of ventilation and manual labor!

my question, has anyone ever tried doing anything remotely like this before? how did it turn out for you? what did you do? I CAN HAS PICS???? DO WANT

ed: case is a black TT Armor. i will be doing the side that doesnt have the side window (the back), and possibly doing some work on the metal on the front as well, while leaving the top the way it is.
