Cheney slams Obama for projecting 'weakness'

On the eve of the unveiling of the nation’s new Afghanistan policy, former Vice President Dick Cheney slammed President Barack Obama for projecting “weakness” to adversaries and warned that more workaday Afghans will side with the Taliban if they think the United States is heading for the exits.

In a 90-minute interview at his suburban Washington house, Cheney said the president’s “agonizing” about Afghanistan strategy “has consequences for your forces in the field.”

If he has all the answers then why didn't he do something while he was in power besdies keeping the chair warm in an undisclosed location??

I wonder what his feeling are on draft dogers and deferments are these days?

BS. I for one would vote for this man in a heartbeat.

Good luck with that --- Cheney left office with half the approval rating of The Shrub.

I'm sure he appreciates your support, and would like to inquire about a possible (heart organ) donation.

As aposed to our current leader whose approval raiting has done nothing but fall since taking office? Next election will be between 3 parties so he has a chance. And I'd guess Obama will be right down with Cheney when his 4yrs are up.

LOL, is there only one guy left in here willing to defend Cheney? Hell 4 years ago I would have been called unamerican for suggesting he might be senile.

Nice slam on Obama. "In 4 years he will be almost as hated as the guy I want to vote for!"

Like pretty much every other president in history, crazy I know. Go ahead and vote for Cheney. He's one of the most widely hated political figures in the entirety of American history. Hatred of Cheney crosses partisan lines, it brings people together.

In fact a Cheney candidacy could be just what this country needs to pull together, because I'm sure everyone but the total crazies would band together to make sure this vampire isn't allowed near real power again.

Also, Cheney going rouge? I was hoping he was turning red from choking on his glass of unicorn blood or whatever.

What's amusing is that Cheney helped get Obama elected. That's irony defined.

I doubt Cheney is at all interested in running for President, he knows he can't win. All he's trying to do is influence the national conversation because he's a true policy warrior, the same as he's always been. That's all he cares about.

Such dedication would be admirable if it wasn't in the service of 'holy shit that's a horrible idea' policies.

Thank God for small favors.

I wonder if the Dem's couldn't twist this somehow into an excuse to raise taxes on the rich? We have to pay for the war you know!!!
