I have an old Civic and the rubber trim around the windows and doors is starting to peel. Could I fix it easily with plastidip?

Rubber trim is very flexible and soft. I think plastidip would be too inflexible and heavy to repair door trim.

What would a new piece of rubber trim cost you? Try Rock Auto for replacement parts for your Civic.

Edit-I just looked up door seal/weather strip for a 1997 Honda Civic and it costs $63 for a pair of front door seals (2 door model).

Huh? It's super flexible and is of average weight... people paint their whole cars with it.

Okay, so give it a try then. I think it would make more sense to just replace the weather stripping with OEM though as it isn't that expensive and would probably seal better.

Maybe rubber trim is not the right term. Here is the piece I want to plastdip. It is basically a piece of trim that sits over metal. It is in much worse shape now, there is a chunk taken out of the plastic it down to the metal underneath since I've taken the picture several months ago. You can see its cracking in several places. Can I plastidip this?

It will work just fine. If you don't like the results wait until it's dry and then peel it off in one, long, satisfying strip. Win win.

I used it once on some untreated side mirrors (silver) on my elantra to look more like my accord. Also used it on the accord trim between the side windows that was fading out. After about 2 years it has degraded substantially. It doesn't weather good but for the short term it looked really good. Just use paint tape and newspaper around the areas you don't want as the spray puts droplets EVERYWHERE. Also, practice a lot. It glops up very easily on whatever you are spraying.
