The company i am interviewing for is using HireRight to verify my background and experiences/education. I have been researching on the net and it looks like people hate them and they are very bad to deal with. I got an email with them today requesting for my W2 from a past workplace.

Another email came to me asking that there was a discrepancy with my education information, but shouldnt because i have everything listed correctly on my application.

Anyone know of this ?

my company used hireright to onboard me. They called me once during the screening because the dates I had put down on my application apparently did not match the data they had found reported. They ended up calling my previous manager and she vouched for me and there was no problem.

A coworker of mine had a more significant issue where they couldn't find a history of employment somewhere she worked. It ended up delaying her by a week and our management team actually had to force it through.

Can't be that bad though, we're a company of 13,000+ and we use them for all our screening.

Absolute pain in the ass but somehow after a week of going back and forth with them I got through and hired on.

I just did for Kellogg, this morning actually. Background check is not done, but HireRight sent me a number and a form to take a drug test.

This concept has so many things wrong with it, I don't know where to begin.
