My parents want a very easy to use scanning device to scan their old negatives from back in the 60s & 70s. Has anyone had any luck with any PC products to do this?

Yes. I use slide scanners regularly. Polaroid makes decent ones. Very easy to use.

BTW, SOME flatbed scanners have a little place on the lid to place negs to scan them. I wouldn't go that route, if I were you.

I wouldn't use a flatbed scanner or a flatbed with slide adapter. They don't have enough resolution, and the scans look like crap. If they have a lot of negatives and/or slides to scan they should probably buy a slide scanner.

Here's an example of one (I'm not endorsing it, it was the first pic of one I found). The slide scanner in our lab has an adapter for negatives. You should be able to select the image type as negative, or you can scan into photoshop and invert.

hey, a lot of colleges and universities have slide scanners.

i'm just assuming you don't want to buy one, these things cost some loot.
