Has anyone used an Antec NSK 4400 case?

I am a fan of some Antec products. I mostly use the Antec 3700 series cases, but have recently gotten a NSK 3700 case and was wondering how they are (it was on sale w/M.I.Rebate).

THIS is the case I am talking about.

I should ask if anyone has any experience with that model PSU (SU 380)? I have heard of some problems with some Antec PSU's (I haven't had any problems with the 4 I am using now....), and was wondering if this one is a new design or maybe a budget version.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm after this case too - I emailed Antec and the SU380 PSU is a 'New Solution' labelled PSU that's only for the NSK cases and won't be sold separately. The 12V1 rail is 16 amps and the 12V2 rail is also 16 amps, so that's better than something like a SmartPower 2 400watt, and looks the same as a TruePower2 380watt. As far as I know, the inside of the case is the same as a SLK1650, so it's Ok but not great - but what got me is that I can get it really cheap here in the UK, where I am. It's basically a new design budget case, but the NSK 4400 looks really nice IMO and is plenty good enough for a single core system, and maybe even an energy efficient dual-core system with medium graphics. I'm just waiting for anybody to post any bugs with it being a new case :).

You might notice that a lot of my fellow ATers like separate cases and separate PSUs. Just because most of the packaged PSUs aren't worth anything. The AT threads have majority suggested a better PSU, for sure.
The Fortron 450W is mentioned a lot, with Enermax, Seasonic coming up behind. Here's a link that majority of newcomers use and the recommendations are much better.
http://www.psuinquisitor.com/ You can now decide with the right info at hand.

For an excellent case, you can start here. It gives a choice or not.

I just recently got a 1650, and this case looks exactly like NSK4400, except for the front panel. The only other differences I can see is the PSU (in UK it must have PFC) and pattern of the holes on the left-side panel. One other thing I'm not so sure about is that tri-speed fan in the back (not sure that the one I got with 1650 is actually a tri-speed). 1650 is a great case for small builds, allows you to add an 80mm fan for air intake (front). Build quality is good, accessories are adequate.

Well, I actually have this case, I just haven't messed with it yet. I do have a 1650B so, I will compare the inside with that (I also have a 2650 and some 3700's running). CompUSA had the 1650 on sale the other week, since they were sold out, they offered me this 'alternate' SKU#, which was this NSK4400. I got it for $70 and have mailed in the $40 rebate. Hopefully I will end up with this case for $30 (plus a few bucks tax).

I am really happy to read that review of the PS, thank you Howard for pointing it out. It is very possible that I will swap out the PSU fan if I find the noise level at its base speen annoying.

Thanks for everyones info. I will respond to pme2 just to say that I wouldn't consider an Antec 380W PSU not 'worth anything'. Quite the contrary, I buy the case for the rock-solid reliability of the Antec PSU. The fact that the case is well made and includes a kick-ass tri-speed Antec 120mm fan is just more icing on the cake.

;) You get what you pay for, generally (meaning they're not necessarily rock-solid reliable).

Have you personally had one fail?

Well, for me, the price of the NSK 4400 is cheap, and an I'd much prefer having an Antec PSU in there than some generic crap that is found in most other cases of that price, and people still use them (i.e. generic) successfully?

I have never had a PSU fail on me, if that's worth anything.

I'm looking at this as a case-cpu combo and the price of $90 shipped for an Antec product getting many positive reviews is just awsome!
(o/c and general hardware review sites, google NSK4400 then Antec SU380)

Could get a higher rated Fortron/FSP for $55 shipped but then you are left with a $35 shipped budget for a Case and cases in that range are horrible in comparison. On newegg the most popular case under 50 seems to be the Centurion and those are $63 shipped, and the reviews on hardware sites aren't as favorable as for the NSK4400.

Then again I am a newbie operating based on knowledge from review sites. ^_^
