In regards to the FIC AU13 motherboard, how are you dealing with the excess heat?
My first step was to get a case that allowed excellent air flow - in particular I was looking for the ability to us a 120mm fan in front of the hard drives. As I had limited time, and needed to pick something up here in town, I got the Raidmax Scorpio 868 Black case, and mounted the Evercool 120x25mm Aluminum fan in the front. It also came with 2 80mm clear rear exhaust fans, and one lighted side exhaust fan (which I replaced with a non-lighted one).
Next, I bagged the stock retail hsf, and installed a Thermalright SLK-700 with a TMD fan on the CPU, applied with AS5, of course. Next I removed the north bridge head sink, removed the crummy thermal pad on the bottom, and installed it on the south bridge chip with AS5. In it's place on the north bridge I installed a Vantec Iceberq CCB-A1C with AS5.
Lastly, my BFG ti 4600 has a "blue orb" installed on the GPU, but the card was putting off too much heat (at it's stock speed!) from the back. Even ram heatsinks did not help enough. So I recently put a Vantec Iceberq 4 (using black termal tape) over the 2 ram chips and section of the card ccorresponding the the back of the GPU.
As you can imagine, I've got a good 450w power supply so as to drive all the extra fans. But with my system at the 2305Mhz (11.5x200fsb), it runs at 34c case, and 54c cpu, with Seti@home running, on a warm San Diego day.
