Hey i just found these fans at a danish hardware dealer, has anyone tried them, and are they really as good as it seems.

Model Power Coloer Fluid 80 MM Blæser
DC 12 Volt
Ampere 0.09 A
RPM 2100
DB 9 DB
CFM 25,92 CFM

If thats true, then I think ill replace my 4 - 21 Db fans installed in my Cabinet, because they are almost quiet. My Cabinet i very well sound isolated with Magic Fleece from NoiseControl, I can only hear a very low humming from the fans. But with 9 db fans it should be totally quiet. But would like to hear if anyone has tested these fans.
- Are they really that quiet?
- Do they really move 25,92 CFM

Cheers mates, hope someone has tried these fans :D

9dBA? Either they've broken the laws of physics as previously known, or there's a typo in those specs! I suspect the latter... :)

It's probably supposed to read "19 dBA". Even that would be difficult to believe, however, assuming the rated airflow is accurate.

Its actually supposed to for real ... here is the link. The Fluid Fans

But there actually was a Typo on the page, they have changed it since yesterday and now the 9 db 80mm fan is "only" 20,5 CFM. But in my oppinion thats still pretty damn good. U can get a 120 mm fan at 28 db that delivers 72CFM :Q

The fans are brand new on the danish market, so they should be avaliable in the most of the world actually, as we are always decades behind here in Denmark

These kind of fans should actually make it possible to build a system, that virtually makes no sound at all. I have a Silverado fan on my CPU its running 12 db, but its in the middel of the cabinet so its impossible to hear, the only very low sound i can hear is from the 21 db fans in the back and front of my cabinet.

But plz post links if u find some tests or anything else of interest. I´ll keep looking for more info, and update this thread if I find anything.

Remember that the computer is only as quiet as its loudest part. We do have a friend in the Seagate Barracuda ATA IV, but I think it might end up being the limiting factor after you replaced all the fans.

those things look pretty sweet but it translates $20 american for each fan. that would cost me $140 to replace all of my panaflo's. hopefully a "generic fluid like" fan will hit the U.S. soon.

Well, thats sortof true, mechBgon :)

the noise of the system is a sum, not simply just the loudest component, as im sure you know

however, if i could get my system to be as loud overall as a Barracuda ATA IV, i'd be satisfied :D

yeah they are kind of expensive, but I will do almost anything to make my computer as silent as possible. The only thing I can hear is the fans, and its not very loud and they are 21 Db, so 9db should be a big improvment. 6 db lower is only half as loud. So 12 db lower would it make it 1/4 of the current noise.

But it would really suck if I bought 4 of these and they were no good, thats why I posted here to see if anyone had tried them, but it seems that no one has even heard about them =)

And I havent found any tests or anything yet

Thats what I'm getting :) (they are in the mail to me now).

BTW, if you have 2 21db fans, your fan noise will be 24 dbs............if you have 4 21 db's, your up to 27db....8 21 db fans, and now your up to 30 db :)

i think i was reading about these on a site about making your machien totally noise free or almost
http://home.swipnet.se/tr/solutions.html

following some links about about FDB (fluid disk bearings) i guess they're in the new hard drives to help lower noise output and the technology was picked up by fan manufactures.. they're pretty much normal fans but the bearings is this fuild. if this is the same thing.. hopefully i'll find some/somewhere to buy them!

also looking at this thing... http://www.rsg-electronic.de/english/produktnews.cfm
fanless 300w PSU's
seems like too much to do for a quiet machine.. but if you're like me and you have about 3 pc's running less then a foot away from you, you'll really learn to appreciate silence :)

Because here in Denmark the Papst fans is just as expensive as these new Fluid Fans. And the fluid fans moves 20,5 CFM at 9 db, which is a little better than the Papst fans - Thats why =).
