Has anyone tried the Gpush app?

Before I drop the .99, is it worth it? Does it work well?
The early reviews aren't looking so great. I know they did have some problems when they launched.

Looking for some user experience.

Gmail push would make my iPhone experience complete.

thanks

I dropped the .99c and I was sorely disappointed.

First of all, I got it two days ago and it didn't start working until last night.
Second, it uses the SMS audio to tell you that you have new mail, which is annoying, because I've associated that tone with texts, not email. I guess I could change the SMS tone, but I don't feel like it... it should offer that ability.
Third, and the inherent issue with Push IMO. If you get a lot of emails, you are CONSTANTLY bombarded with popup notifications. I know you can turn that off and just use the tone, but then that reverts my issue back to #2.

Overall, I'd try and setup Gmail with it's Exchange support, if you aren't already using it for another account.

Thanks for the info.. I'd love to just use the exchange option but I've already got it set up for my work account. I wish it was possible to have multiple exchange accounts.. that would be ideal.

No problem.

That's the issue I have as well. I'm not sure if it's a limitation of ActiveSync, or what.. but I'd love to be able to have multiple Exchange accounts.

I didn't know there was such a limitation, but I'd guess it has something to do with licensing (either cost or willingness), not a technical limitation.

Yea, Entourage and Outlook allow you to have multiple accounts, so my guess is Apple just licensed the ability to have one account, or either, they didn't want to bother with people being able to sync multiple accounts... because it would be too confusing to the end user.. ugh.. I love my iPhone, but certain limitation really annoy me. And this isn't something that can be rectified by jailbreaking, which is the case with all my other complaints.

I like it, the service is shotty right now, I think his servers are a bit over loaded. Worth it to get the emails that do come through, and it's 99 cents :)
