I installed a pre-beta release (a little while back) of windows vista on VMware, and I recall it gave me hard time configuring the HD, I can look it up again, but it'll save me the trouble to know if any of you already tackled that issue (or any other you might have had).
I have A64 3000+ but I d/l the 32-bit version, since I read here the 64-bit was horrible.

Yes I've run both the Vista and the Longhorn Server Beta 2 (5384) 32 bit builds under VMWare and havent had any signifigant problems.

Please download the 64bit build and install it; any problems you run into should be bugged so they can be fixed.

The real "problems" I'm aware of related to the 64bit builds are driver related, but if you're running XP 64bit this is nothing new. The OS itself should run well.
 
I installed it on VirtualPC 2005 and it's fine, wish I had more horsepower to throw at it but it's functional.
